KletterRetter sun cream was developed especially for climbers who need to rely on their skin – even on the wall. Instead of outdated UV filters, we use modern, photostable active ingredients that reliably protect you from sunburn and deep skin ageing – without leaving your fingers greasy or your holds slippery.

Tested performance

UV radiation consists of UVA and UVB rays – both of which damage the skin in different ways. UVB rays penetrate the top layer of skin and cause sunburn. UVA rays are longer wavelength, penetrate deeper into the skin and are responsible for skin ageing, wrinkles and long-term cell damage.

Our formula has been tested according to current ISO standards and offers:

• SPF 35.2 (instead of just ‘SPF 30’)
• UVA protection factor 13.7 – significantly above the EU minimum value
• Broad spectrum protection up to 400 nm (UVA1 + UVB)
• UVA/UVB ratio 45.6% – well above the EU requirement (≥ 33%)

Developed for climbers

This sun cream has been tested with and without chalk – it absorbs faster, is less sticky and does not run into your eyes when you sweat. Ideal for hot bouldering days, long approaches or multi-pitch climbs in the blazing sun.

With aloe vera, panthenol and calendula

Enriched with aloe vera, panthenol and calendula to soothe and moisturise sun-damaged skin.

Modern UV filters instead of old chemicals

Instead of potentially environmentally harmful and unstable substances such as avobenzone or octocrylene, our sun cream contains modern filters:

• Tinosorb S – UVA & UVB, extremely photostable
• Uvinul A Plus – protects in the deep UVA1 range
• Ethylhexyl Triazone – the strongest UVB filter on the market

These filters are EU-approved, reef-safe (no oxybenzone, no octinoxate) and very skin-friendly.
